Frequently asked questions

How does "Identify" work?

While a station plays, open the player and tap the waveform button. The app listens to about 12 seconds, turns the Arabic into text and compares it with the Quran. It then opens the surah and ayah. It works best with Quran recitation. On iPhones that cannot do this offline, the short clip is sent to Apple's speech recognition after you agree. See the privacy policy.

How do I record a station?

Tap the red record button in the player and tap it again to stop. Recordings are in the Recordings tab, where you can play, share or delete them. Recordings stay on your iPhone. Please respect the rights of the stations when you share them.

A station does not play.

Internet radio stations are run by third parties and sometimes go offline. Check your connection and try again later. You can also report the station: tap the ••• button next to it and choose "Report station".

A station is in the wrong country or is inappropriate.

Use "Report station" in the ••• menu. If you do not want to see a station, choose "Hide station". You can show hidden stations again in the About tab.

How do I use the sleep timer?

Tap the ••• button next to a station and pick a time under "Play with sleep timer", or open the player and tap the moon button. The sound fades out and stops when the time is up.

How do I play on a speaker or Apple TV?

Open the player and tap the AirPlay button, then choose your device.

Where do the stations come from?

From the community-maintained Radio Browser directory and a hand-picked list. The stations are provided by third parties; the app does not host any audio.
